National Library Week Celebration

April 13, 2010
To celebrate National Library Week, Mrs. Terrie Stout, Plum Valley School Librarian, organized a fabulous scavenger hunt for the students to 'Explore Their World'.
She had them trying to figure out puzzle clues, various hints and brain teasers. The clues used media sources available in the library, even a hands on how to project. Working in teams, students would follow clues, literally running all over campus. (With staff constantly saying "Walk, walk!") They were all trying to complete as many 'stations' in their passports as they could.
Stations were centered on such themes as: Outer Space; Biography; Fantasy; Adventure; Poetry; and many more. The winners were determined by the number of stations finished and the quality of work completed.
The students had a great time. All participants received a "PAWsome Reader" T-shirt. Top winners received key chains, medals and trophies.
Thank you to Mrs. Stout for all of the time and effort you put into this activity. It was a great way to celebrate National Library Week.
Congratulations to all the students who participated and a 'High Five' to the team winners!
